Nashville members of The American Guild of Organists (AGO)are presenting these concerts in Wightman Chapel as a gift to the community during Lent. The American Guild of Organists is the national professional association serving the organ and choral music fields. The Guild serves approximately 15,000 members in approximately 300 chapters throughout the United States and abroad. Founded in 1896 as both an educational and service organization, the Guild seeks to set and maintain high musical standards and to promote understanding and appreciation of all aspects of organ and choral music.
The Nasvhille Chapter of the AGO is one of the most active in the country, and in the past few years has hosted a regional convention (1995) and a national convention (2012). The current dean (president) of the Nashville Chapter is Marsha Scheusner, a Scarritt alumna.
Adam Lutz is an organ major at Belmont University from Detroit, Michigan.
