I am an award-winning author and a freelance writer, manuscript consultant, and editor living in Germantown, Tenn. I was a long-time writer-at-large for Southern Writers Magazine, interviewing national authors and writing feature articles for each issue and assisting with the proofreading and editing of each issue. I have also been a guest writer for many other local and national publications, including Delta Magazine. I received three TCPRA awards for outstanding feature articles while writer on staff at Lipscomb University. Other publications include: Suite T Blog, Tennessee Conservationist, Learning Through History, and Memphis Family FunSpots. My books include: Author of Looking, Seeing (2018), Without a Voice (2017), Two Frontiers (2016), Writing Your Faith Journey (2016), and Look to See Me: A Collection of Reflections (2006). My first novel, Two Frontiers, was a 2017 Next Generation Indie Book Awards Finalist.
Through my poetry, I invite readers into my conversations on healing, on change, on hope, on courage, on determination, on love, and on self-discovery. I share my voice with others as I give you glimpses into the journey I have traveled on—a journey that has taken me through grief as I led the funeral for a relative who died from complications from AIDS, through pain as I struggled to free myself from domestic abuse, and through joy as I raised two courageous children who found their own voices.
