my unique story

Event: My Unique Story: Visual & Verbal Storytelling
Location: Fondren Hall, 2nd Floor
Dates & Times: April 24, 5:30pm–8:30 pm, April 25, 9:30am–4:30 pm, and April 26, 9:30 am–4:30 pm

This is a 3-day workshop that will be limited to 12 persons.

We all have stories to tell. We have all been through unique experiences, some seemingly insignificant on the surface, but they are shaping us into who we’re meant to become. Join us as we learn creative techniques in art and writing to use to tell stories. Each piece of art will reflect different points in our lives and will include a Life Map collage, mixed media postcards and a mixed media accordion book. Through writing exercises we will craft stories and each participant will share a 4–6-minute story on the last day.

About the Workshop Leader

Ashley Mintz is a visual artist and writer creating and residing in Nashville, Tennessee. She can often be found exhibiting her art and reading poetry at different galleries and festivals around Nashville and in other cities in the South. An avid lover of film, she has had her original instrumental music used in indie and short films and more recently, some of her paintings were used in the background of two Nashville-based films. She creates instrumental music and songs that incorporate poetry under the name, Wild Enemy. Ashley regularly teaches art and writing workshops to help others cultivate their creativity and to use art as a way of healing.
