Dr. Richard A. Nelson is the author of more than twenty-five books. His latest publication, Glimpses of Life in Pictures and Words, is a hard-cover, 1162 page memoir. His education includes a B.A. in Psychology (1966, CSC Chico), an M.A. in Vocational Education (1978,CSC Los Angeles), and a DPhil in the Integration of Religion and Society, (2012, Oxford Graduate School). Dr. Nelson is a General Contractor, Real Estate Developer, Associate Real Estate Broker, and ordained Christian Pastor. His prolific writings focus on Family, Nature, Travel, International Leadership and Pastor Training, Biblical Studies, and Work. A close friend of Dr. Maya Angelou, she asked him in her home on one occasion of his doings. When he started to reply “I am not a typical poet…” she instantly interjected, as only she could do, “Dr. Nelson, there is no such things as a typical poet!” His readers are quick to realize her observation, whether it be in his poetry, prose, or academic publications.
