Allison Boyd Justus grew up in the shadow of Ben Lomand Mountain in Warren County, Tennessee. She doesn’t live there anymore, but some of her poems do. Allison studied literature, music, theology, and education before becoming a public school teacher. A Middle Tennessee Writing Project teacher-consultant, Allison currently works as a gifted education facilitator and language arts teacher at Eagleville School. Allison’s poetry has appeared in Penwood Review, Nibble, Madcap Review, Eunoia Review, Quail Bell, Calliope, and Contemporary American Voices. She once spent a year watching sunrises, chronicled in her collection Solstice to Solstice to Solstice, which was published by Alternating Current Press in March 2017.
