November 16, 2017 Barbara Russell grew up in upstate New York, graduated from Northfield School and Wellesley College in Massachusetts, and did graduate work in Spanish at Middlebury. She studied in Barcelona and Madrid while an undergraduate. After college, she worked in publishing and taught Spanish in the Boston area, and then went into technical publishing and training. She became a documentation manager and internationalization consultant before moving to Nashville in 1990. Here, she researched Spanish terminology used in Latin America and Spain, and managed translation projects into Mandarin, Hebrew, French and Spanish. In 2011, before her son went to college, she began writing poems and short prose. She has read for the Tennessee Women’s Theater “Women’s Work” program, and looks forward to reading at Poet’s Corner November 16th.
