Listen To The Silence - A Silent Retreat

Designed for rest, renewal and reenergizing, Scarritt-Bennett Center's Listen to the Silence retreat offers three days of spiritual enrichment and time to follow God's nudging within the peaceful setting of our historic campus, located in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee.

The retreat will provide individual private time to pursue spiritual disciplines and listen to the presence of God, group worship and learning experiences, musical and visual meditation, meal-time conversation, and time for walking the labyrinth and the campus. Resources for reading, art supplies and music will be supplied or you may bring your own.

Each individual will have their own "private space" on the 2nd floor of Fondren Hall as well as access to Skinner Chapel in the same building.

COST:
Commuter: $165 Includes 9 meals, taxes, and tuitio

Overnight: $345 Includes 3 night's lodging, 9 meals, taxes and tuition

Continuing Education Credits of 1.6 units given at an additional cost of $50

Kathryn Mitchum

Kathryn L. Mitchem was commissioned as a United Methodist Deaconess in 1971 and has served churches in Georgia, Oklahoma, North Carolina, and Tennessee. She served as Church and Community professor and department head at Scarritt Graduate School and as nationwide interpreter and resource developer for the whole of Church and Community Ministry. In addition, Mitchem is one of the founders and has been a leader of Penuel Ridge Retreat Center and the Nashville Peace and Justice Center. She has served on the board of Scarritt-Bennett Center and held leadership positions with Affirmation - United Methodists for LGBT Concerns.
