Maybe you’ve attended the workshops; taken the classes; read all the how-to books, and still haven’t gotten started on that book burning inside of you. Or maybe you’ve gotten started on the book, and now you’re stuck. Or maybe you have your manuscript done, but you just aren’t sure it’s ready – whatever that is. Or you think it’s ready but you don’t know what to do next. The 3rd annual Room to Write is for you.

Scarritt-Bennett Center invites writers and aspiring writers – from songwriters to novelists – to spend a weekend writing on Scarritt-Bennett’s campus. No classes, no workshops, no pressure... well, maybe a little pressure. The aim of Room to Write is to provide you with three days of uninterrupted writing time.

Sure, we have some daily activities where you can connect with other people if you would like to. You can even sign up to work one-on-one with our professional book doctor. But you don’t have to do any of this. You can just lock yourself in your room and write, coming out just to share a meal and maybe a few moments of fresh air and friendly faces. Room to Write is slated for April 8-11. The cost for the weekend is $275 upgraded room/$240 standard.
