About
the Collection
The
SBC Collection of Ethnographic Artifacts consists of several thousand
objects from around the world, which include textiles, pottery, masks, a
doll collection, and other artifacts pertaining to different ethnicities
and cultures. Small exhibits of parts of the collection are presented year-round and
may be viewed in the Laskey Building (1st floor).
Current Exhibit:
War Ad Nauseam
This small exhibit presents a condensed historical analysis of the prevalence of war, its true causes, its atrocities and futility. The weapons displayed are from the SBC Collection. The exhibit has been organized within the framework of the Social Justice Programs at Scarritt-Bennett Center.

The
mission of the Collection is cultural education through exhibits
and programs, by providing visitors the opportunity to foster an
understanding and appreciation of diverse ethnic and cultural heritages,
and encourage social tolerance and cooperation within a growing
multicultural society.
